THE NON FLUFF EMOTIONAL STUFF™
Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind can spiral?
One small moment… one comment… one mistake…
And suddenly your thoughts are telling a story that feels heavy, critical, and overwhelming.
“I’m not good enough.”
“I always mess things up.”
“This is never going to work.”
The truth is — most of us aren’t consciously choosing these thoughts. They’ve been rehearsed over time, shaped by past experiences, beliefs, and habits.
But here’s the empowering part:
You don’t have to believe every thought you think.
The way you speak to yourself matters.
Your thoughts influence:
How you feel
How you behave
What actions you take (or avoid)
How you see yourself and your potential
If your inner dialogue is constantly critical or negative, it becomes harder to show up with confidence, resilience, and clarity.
But when you begin to shift your thinking — even slightly — everything starts to change.
Most of our thoughts are automatic.
They happen quickly, often without us even noticing. That’s why self-management starts with awareness.
The goal isn’t to eliminate negative thoughts — that’s not realistic.
The goal is to notice them, and then choose a more helpful thought.
Not a fake or forced positive thought…
But one that is more balanced, more supportive, and more aligned with growth.
Here’s a simple way to begin shifting your thinking:
Pause and ask:
“What am I telling myself right now?”
Is this thought:
100% true?
Helpful?
Kind?
Often, the answer is no.
Gently reframe it into something more supportive.
For example:
❌ “I always mess things up.”
➡️ “I’m learning, and I can do this differently next time.”
❌ “I’m not good enough.”
➡️ “I’m growing, and I’m capable of improving.”
❌ “This is too hard.”
➡️ “This is challenging, but I can take it one step at a time.”
This isn’t about toxic positivity — it’s about helpful thinking.
When you shift your thoughts, you shift your emotional state.
And when your emotional state shifts, your actions follow.
You move from:
Stuck → proactive
Overwhelmed → capable
Critical → compassionate
Helpful thinking builds resilience, confidence, and emotional strength over time.
Today, notice one moment where your thinking becomes unhelpful.
Pause.
Ask yourself:
“What’s a more helpful way to think about this?”
Then choose it.
It might feel unfamiliar at first — that’s okay. You’re rewiring a pattern.
Over time, your inner dialogue begins to change.
Instead of being your harshest critic, your mind becomes your support system.
Encouraging.
Grounding.
Empowering.
And when that shift happens, you don’t just feel different — you show up differently in every area of your life.
💫 At Insite Mind, we believe your thoughts are one of your most powerful tools. When you learn to guide them with intention, you begin to rewrite not just your inner story — but your entire experience of life.
It’s never too late for a lane change. Insite Mind is the brainchild of one woman who after a decade spinning in the hamster wheel of the accounting world gave it up to live out her heart work. But it didn’t come without challenge and a little nudge from the universe in the form of a book Dealing with Difficult People. Upon opening it Alisa was surprised to find in black and white text “maybe it’s you”. So after several ego deaths and many personal development books along the way Alisa Pettit found her way to coaching. Now a fully fledged positive mindset coach and personal mastery guru Ali’s work helps people find their way through mindset teachings.
