THE NON FLUFF EMOTIONAL STUFF™
A brand new year feels like a blank page — but instead of filling it with giant goals or unrealistic promises (we’ve all been there!), I want to invite you into a different kind of beginning.
One that feels grounded.
One that’s deeply aligned.
One that supports the version of you you’re becoming — not the one you think you should be.
Because starting the new year “right” isn’t about doing more.
It’s about becoming more you.
Resolutions can feel heavy — like homework we didn’t ask for.
Intentions, however?
They’re heart-based.
Flexible.
Empowering.
Instead of saying: “I will meditate every day,”
try: “I intend to nurture my calm in ways that feel good to me.”
Intentions support growth without creating pressure.
One simple word can anchor you through all twelve months.
Words like:
Ease
Courage
Expand
Joy
Balance
Integrity
Presence
Choose a word that whispers to you — the one that feels like it’s been waiting for you.
Question to ask yourself:
“What quality do I want to embody more fully this year?”
We often set goals without creating the conditions to support them.
This year, start differently.
If your intention is more calm — where in your week can you create space for it?
If your intention is connection — what boundaries do you need?
If your intention is growth — what support structures can you put in place?
Change begins with space.
The new year can spark excitement — but also comparison, pressure, or panic that you should “have it all sorted.”
Let’s not do that.
Let this be the year you walk into January with self-compassion:
You don’t need a perfect plan.
You don’t need to transform overnight.
You don’t have to earn your right to rest or evolve.
This year, you get to grow gently.
Joyfully.
Your way.
You are not a problem to solve.
You are a human in progress.
Start your new year with the belief that you are enough — and you’re simply choosing to expand into the next version of yourself.
Journal prompt:
“Who am I becoming, and what does that version of me need from me now?”
As you step into this new year, take your time. You don’t need to rush into a plan or perfect your path. Simply breathe, listen inward, and let your intentions unfold gently. You are allowed to begin again with kindness, clarity, and trust in your own becoming.
Remember: the new year isn’t asking you to be someone else — it’s inviting you to deepen into who you already are.
It’s never too late for a lane change. Insite Mind is the brainchild of one woman who after a decade spinning in the hamster wheel of the accounting world gave it up to live out her heart work. But it didn’t come without challenge and a little nudge from the universe in the form of a book Dealing with Difficult People. Upon opening it Alisa was surprised to find in black and white text “maybe it’s you”. So after several ego deaths and many personal development books along the way Alisa Pettit found her way to coaching. Now a fully fledged positive mindset coach and personal mastery guru Ali’s work helps people find their way through mindset teachings.
